Equity Plan

The University, through its latest Strategic Plan gives high priority to the principles and practice of equal opportunity in all areas of teaching, learning, research, human resource policy and management. Inclusive practice is integral to the University Strategic Plan's Core Principles of "providing a teaching and learning and working environment of high quality" and "encouraging and supporting excellent basic and applied research and research training".

The University's Equity Plan is a dynamic document and has been developed following wide consultation. It identifies eight key principles that underpin four broad goals. Each of the goals has associated strategies, performance measures and responsibilities. Through these the Plan promotes, in a practical way, the notion of an inclusive community where diversity is celebrated, rights are protected and all students and staff are able to achieve their full potential.
