Publicising
your job vacancies on the web
Whether it is a part-time or graduate position, vacation work or a volunteer experience, the Service can publicise your opportunity on our student portal, CareerHub. Just enter your request in the form below and it will be placed online within 24 hours.
Other services offered through CareerHub include on line events bookings for employer information sessions, quick links to your website, and the opportunity to target specific discipline groups relevant to your recruitment requirements.
All opportunities placed on CareerHub are done so free of charge.
Mailing your
literature to students
Send your brochures, invitations or letters to us and we do the rest!
We can target mail outs to students undertaking specific fields of study.
Mail out services include labels, standard size envelopes (DL), postage and all administrative costs. We do not accept letters already placed in company envelopes due to Australia Post requirements for University charge-back. Therefore two mailing options are available:
- Collect University of Tasmania envelopes from Student Services and you insert your material and return to us for labelling and mailing. Cost is $2.20 (incl. GST) per envelope.
- Provide us with your inserts and we will take care of things from there. Cost is $3.30 (incl. GST) per envelope.
Just enter your request in the form below and the mail out will be posted on your requested date.
Important - Please ensure any material sent includes the following disclaimer -
"This correspondence has been addressed and forwarded by your University Careers Service. No personal information about any students has been made available to any external organisations."
Bulk emails to students
We can target students in specific areas of study by bulk email. This is usually a short message, no longer than a standard A4 page, of plain text. Under University guidelines we are unable to send attachments or logo banners with bulk emails.
The bulk email service is only available for the publicising of specific employment opportunities.
To cover administrative costs, our new bulk email fee structure is as follows
(charges quoted are GST inclusive):
$50 |
For the first 500 students
(includes administration fee) |
0.10 cents per student |
After the first 500 students |
If you have any queries please contact Sonia Jessup on (03) 6226 2511 or Sonia.Jessup@utas.edu.au
To request the bulk-email service, complete applicable sections of the form below and it will be sent out on your behalf on a date specified by you (please allow a minimum of 36 hours from date of request).
Interviewing
students on campus
We have a limited number of rooms available for Graduate Recruitment interviews. (Please note that if you require us to arrange interview times for students, we do need 72 hours notice to ensure that we can contact the applicants.)
Cost for this service is $200 per room per day (incl. GST) or $110 per room per half day (incl. GST).
Just enter your request in the form below and a booking and all other arrangements will be organised for your specified date.
Employer information sessions
We can organise an employer information session for you at any time during the academic year (subject to University timetable).
Cost for this service is $180 (incl. GST) and includes booking of venue, equipment, publicity and staff time.

Careers Week
Each year the Careers Service runs a variety of careers related activities and events across all campuses on all days of the week culminating with the Careers and Law Fairs. Careers Week is usually held during the 3rd week of Semester 1. Dates for 2008 are Tuesday March 11 - Friday March 14.
During this week we invite employers to heavily market their graduate opportunities to students, particularly penultimate and final years, through the offering of employer information sessions, employer panels and participation in the Careers and Law Fairs.
Following heavy promotion and marketing, it was estimated that approximately 2500 students attended face-to-face activities during Careers Week 2007. The program for 2008 Careers Week is now available - click here.
If you wish to offer an information session during Careers Week please complete the details on the form below and we will respond during January once the program is nearing finalisation.
Careers and Law Fairs
Our Fairs provide an ideal opportunity to promote your organisation's career options and meet face-to-face with prospective employees.
Students from all disciplines and years of study, and from all campuses are invited to attend the Careers Fair which will be held on Thursday March 13, 2008 from 12 noon to 3pm in the Tasmania University Union Activities Centre.
The Law Fair will be held on Friday March 14, 2008 from 12 noon to 2pm in the Activities Centre, TUU Building.
To register for the Careers Fair please complete this form and fax back to the Hobart office of the Career Development and Employment Service.
To register for the Law Fair please complete this form and fax back to the Hobart office of the Career Development and Employment Service.
If you wish to attend both Fairs, please complete both forms and return together.
Costs for the Fairs may vary from year to year and cover booth, table, tablecloth and chairs, and all catering (a light lunch is offered prior to the Careers Fair opening, and drinks and nibbles are provided for all employers following both the Career and Law Fairs).
For an additional fee, extra equipment can also be arranged including Internet access and use of TV/Video facilities.
Nursing Careers Day
