Pay Rates Information

Part-time and Casual Employment Rates

The following information should be taken as a guideline only and is intended for use in casual, private arrangements. Business employers would be expected to pay award rates where they apply.

  • Gardening/Labouring - $12 per hour (plus costs of providing fuel etc)
  • Domestic Cleaning - $12 per hour
  • Tutoring (one on one)
    • Up to Grade 10 $15 - $17 per hour
    • Grades 11 & 12 $18 - $20 per hour
    • Tertiary level $20 - $30 per hour
  • Tutoring (group) - Add $5 - $10 per hour to the relevant rate
  • Word Processing - $3 - $6 per page (depending on complexity of task - eg. layouts, resumes, charts etc)
